Viano hits the right notes for Carrie and David Grant
Pop duo Carrie and David Grant are singing the praises of the Mercedes Viano, which could be about to create a record of its own!The Fame Academy voice coaches have spent the past year driving around in the popular MPV.
“I cannot speak highly enough of the car,” David said. “When we first had the Viano, I thought I was the only one going to drive it – but we ended up fighting over the keys!”
And according to recent figures, the Viano is now rocketing up the sales charts after recording a whopping increase in sales of 19 per cent on previous years and achieving a bigger market share compared to 2006.
The couple discovered on a recent holiday to France that the Viano 2.2CDI Ambiente is the perfect vehicle for carrying their three children as passengers while also having plenty of room to load suitcases, bikes and the buckets and spades.
David added that the youngsters particularly enjoyed the seat adjustment system which allowed them to face each other during the long journey.
He is also an advocate of the parking sensors which make light work of manoeuvring into tight spaces, and favourably compares the fuel consumption of the Viano to other vehicles in its class.
Carrie and David have often been snapped stepping out of the car at glitzy music industry bashes, proving that the vehicle is both practical and stylish.
“The Viano is a cool car for turning up at ‘red carpet’ occasions, as it’s more rock and roll than other cars,” David said. “And it is great for carrying everything we need and transporting us to TV shows and events all over the country.
“We love the car and would recommend it to anyone. If you are going to buy a people carrier, then there is only one to consider – the Viano.”
Carrie and David are the best known pop vocal coaches in the UK, having worked with the likes of Will Young, Lemar, Melanie C and many others.
They have appeared as singing coaches and judges on shows such as Fame Academy and Pop Idol.
The couple are currently working on a variety of projects including a new ITV prime time show for the autumn and writing and recording songs for a programme for the ‘CBeebies’ children’s channel.
The Viano has seen sales rise by 38 per cent on 2006 figures. It now has a market share of 2.9 per cent, which beats its previous best mark of 2.3 per cent last year.
